The grade 8s worked collaboratively in groups to create these original stories of their own. Some of these stories were created and typed-up in Microsoft Word 2010 and then using a special Digital Accessible Information SYstem (DAISY) - an app that can be downloaded for free and added to the MS Word 2010 toolbar - created the audiobook digitally. This means that those stories have been 'read' automatically by a synthesized voice in the PC. This has been an excellent aspect added to the project - the pupils have enjoyed the technology involved and are now starting to use it in their studies for other purposes (like typing out their revision notes in MS Word and then listening to them whilst studying).

As a 'Pay it Forward' project, the grade 8s are hoping that others around the world will consider the plight of children who may not be as fortunate as they are, and commit an hour of their time to this worthwhile project. If you are keen to help others and are prepared to read and record, check the index of pages on the left which contains all the directions required (See - *MP3 ABC Simple Directions - in the index on the left).

Please would you also join this wiki and spread the word around - we wish for this site to offer free downloads to pre-schools and schools for the blind that could use the stories in their classrooms.
