Eden College Durban's Grade 8 classes have embarked on an updated project entitled, "MP3 Aids for the Blind" - a modern version of "Tape Aids for the Blind", but with children being the target market. With modern technology it is possible to record a story and then to upload it to the internet for quick and seamless distribution and availability around the world - all in an instant.

As a 'Pay it Forward' project, the grade 8s are hoping that others around the world will consider the plight of children who may not be as fortunate as they are, and commit an hour of their time to this worthwhile project. If you are keen to help others and are prepared to read and record, check the index of pages on the left which contains all the directions required.

Please would you also join this wiki and spread the word around - we wish for this site to offer free downloads to pre-schools and schools for the blind that could use the stories in their classrooms.

This page is special in that we are hoping to get at least one story recorded in the international languages on this page. Please would you consider Paying it Forward and recording a story in a language other than English to be uploaded to this page. At present we have a few stories in: -
Afrikaans, isiXhosa, isiZulu, SeSotho, Siswati, Arabic, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Norwegian, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Telegu... wouldn't you like to add a story in your language?

Once you've risen to the challenge, please challenge your friends to do the same. This could be an excellent exercise for those wishing to practise a second or third language as the children's book should be for 4 - 10 year-olds i.e. a simple children's book which should be easy for second-language readers to do.
